A Morning in the Snow…

26 Jan

We trekked out early this morning to hit Mt. High, but not early enough. By the time we got there, they were turning folks around from the mountain because it was already packed. So Incog pulled a U-Turn from the long line of cars in front and behind us, and we parked on the side of the road like many other families to play in the snow instead.

That was good enough for us…

Relax. It’s just orange juice. *cheese*

img_8486.JPG

Incog thought it would be funny to hit us with a snowball while we were taking a picture. Christal thought it was funny too. But maybe that was because they didn’t have snow up their nose or in their mouth. Cold.Blooded.

Boys will always be boys…*sigh*

We reserved time for normalcy….

img_8556.JPG img_8531.JPG

And then got back to the craziness…

All in all…it was cool being out in the snow and being able to have a little fun…

The rest of the photos are here.

Now…let me see what else I can get into before Saturday is over…. *cheese*

What a Weekend…

7 Jan

This weekend was kinda crazy…

With the rain and storming and all that…and living pretty much in the canyon, it was kind of a weird experience.

It was Incog’s and ADots birthday today. Yay! Happy Birthday!

We had fam dinner for Incog at BJ’s Restaurant. He got a free Pazookie for his birthday. Mmmm. Candle and all. lol. I should have taken pictures. Boooo.

But we did manage to get to Mt. High this Sunday. Fresh Snowfall. Whatcha know ’bout it?

img_8303.JPG img_8305.JPG

img_8307.JPG img_8313.JPG

The funniest thing we saw was this little kid who was getting on the lift. He had to be about 4 years old, but he was doing his thing. His dad had him by a back “pull” thing. So if he fell in the snow or if he wasn’t able to get up fast enough, his dad would lift up on this back “pull” thing to pick him up. It was so highlarious, and he was sooo cute. lol

img_8309.JPG img_8311.JPG

Anyways, we hope to take our friends up there with us next time. We’ll see what happens.

I hope you guys all had a super weekend!

Stay Blessed

Think Before You Speak.

19 Sep

FROM KOOLBREEZE‘s blog…this was HIGHLARIOUS….

Here are six reasons why people should think before they speak.
Have you ever spoken and wished that you could
immediately take the words back…
or that you could crawl into a hole?
Here are the Testimonials of a few people who did….

FIRST TESTIMONY:

I walked into a hair salon with my husband and three kids in tow
and asked loudly,
“How much do you charge for a shampoo and a blow job?”
I turned around and walked back out and never went back
My husband didn’t say a word…
he knew better.

SECOND TESTIMONY:

I was at the golf store comparing different kinds of golf balls.
I was unhappy with the womens type I had been using.
After browsing for several minutes, I was approached by one of the good-looking gentlemen who works at the store. He asked if he could help me.
Without thinking, I looked at him and said,
“I think I like playing with men’s balls.”

THIRD TESTIMONY:

My sister and I were at the mall and
passed by a store that sold a
variety of candy and nuts.
As we were looking at the display case,
the boy behind the counter asked if we needed any help.
I replied, “No, I’m just looking at your nuts.”
My sister started to laugh hysterically.
The boy grinned, and I turned beet-red and walked away.
To this day, my sister has never let me forget.

FOURTH TESTIMONY:

While in line at the bank one afternoon,
my toddler decided to release
some pent-up energy and ran amok.
I was finally able to grab hold of
her after receiving looks of disgust
and annoyance from other patrons.
I told her that if she did not start behaving
“right now” she would be punished.
To my horror, she looked me in the eye and said in a
voice just as threatening,
“If you don’t let me go right now,
I will tell Grandma that I saw you
kissing Daddy’s pee-pee last night!”
The silence was deafening after this enlightening exchange.
Even the tellers stopped
what they were doing.
I mustered up the last of my dignity and
walked out of the bank with my daughter in tow.
The last thing I heard when
the door closed behind me,
were screams of laughter.

FIFTH TESTIMONY:

Have you ever asked your child a question too many times?
My three-year-old son had a lot of problems with potty training
and I was on him constantly.
One day we stopped at Taco Bell for a quick lunch
in between errands.
It was very busy, with a full dining room.
While enjoying my taco,
I smelled something funny,
so of course I checked
my seven-month-old daughter, she was clean.
The realized that Danny
had not asked to go potty in a while.
I asked him if he needed to go,
and he said “No”.
I kept thinking
“Oh Lord, that child has had an
accident, and I don’t have any clothes with me.”
Then I said,
“Danny, are you SURE you didn’t have an accident?”
“No,” he replied.
I just KNEW that he must have had an accident,
because the smell was getting worse.
Soooooo, I asked one more time,
“Danny, did you have an accident?”
This time he jumped up,
yanked down his pants,
bent over,
spread his cheeks
and yelled
“SEE MOM, IT’S JUST FARTS!!”
While 30 people nearly choked to death on their tacos laughing,
he calmly pulled up his pants and sat down.
An old couple made me feel better,
thanking me for the best laugh they’d ever had!

LAST BUT NOT LEAST TESTIMONY:

This had most of the state of Michigan laughing for 2 days
and a very embarrassed female news anchor who will,
in the future, likely think before she speaks.
What happens when you predict snow but don’t get any!
We had a female news anchor that,
the day after it was supposed to have snowed and didn’t,
turned to the weatherman and asked:
“So Bob, where’s that 8 inches you promised me last night?”
Not only did HE have to leave the set,
but half the crew did too they were laughing so hard!

Flavor of Love Post

28 Aug

I know you all remember my Flavor of Love post from a while back…

Because it is ranked kind of high in google, I have a lot of visitors to that post. A lot of times, people comment as though they are writing to Flav himself…

Today, I received an email from a lady TO Flav.

“Snowflake” – Georgie ********* wrote:
Hi Flav, I’ve been watching your show and if you find your heart still hasn’t found real love, give me a call. I know what it is to stand by my man. I lived with the late blues legend Andy *********** who passed away Aug 14, 2004. I taught him to read and write, recorded him twice in the studio and saved his history of audio tapes and stories from the 16 years we were together. I gave him back his self respect and took nothing off the public when they would try to do him wrong. I miss my cowboy. I know age should be an important factor, he was 26 years older than me, you would no doubt be younger. I am 58 and looking for the same sincere love and respect that he and I had together. The last month of his life I was interviewing Bo Diddley and found that they were cousins, that is why they grew up together. If nothing else, I’d like to meet you and be your friend. My best to you in your search for love. It is hard to imagine it could happen to me again, but I too am looking for the real thing, again. He never commanded me, nor I, him. We never even had a fight. We simply loved one another and respected the life we had together. I saved his life the last 12 years of his life and in the end, he knew it would be me that would have to take him off life support. My best to you for I can see you have a real heart. Snowflake

:mouthshut: I’m still at a loss…………..:mouthshut:..hell, is this even real?
Lord…..:uhh:

Lemme do what I was doing…. Post on the weekend to follow tonight.:curtsey:

What a week or two…

It’s been a while…again. So much has happened that I was going to put things into categories for you, but realized that even THAT would be really long.

It rained today. And you know they say that when it rains, it pours…so let me give you a recap…

Last week was pretty okay. A lot of running around, to say the least.

I had a chat with Incog that I believe changed a whole lot of things for us. It’s a positive note. There’s nothing sour or wrong here.

IMG 3472
We went snowboarding last weekend. We saw snowFALL for the first time EVER. We had a LOT of fun, but managed to hit a patch of ice on the way back. Thank God for two selfless young men who helped us by pushing Lexi as Incog drove in order to get out of the ditch that several cars had already skidded into. I prayed the whole way home.

Last Sunday we went to go see a movie, and on the way out, i left my purse in the theatre. After sneaking into another movie, and driving about 2 blocks from home, i realized that i didnt have it and we drove back in a panic. When i ran up to the manager, he knew what i wanted. I didnt have to ask. But sadness set in when i realized that the person who turned in my Dooney & Bourke Purse and matching Wallet, neglected to turn in my Cell Phone. I purchased the new Treo the next day, but not without turning off the old phone and reporting it stolen so that whoever had it, could not use it OR activate it on another line.

I’ve been so tired this past week, I dont even know what’s wrong. Classes went okay, but it seems like I’ll be doing papers and reading books until Jesus’ Second coming.

Yesterday *Thursday* I received some “somewhat predictable” news that i “wasnt expecting”. I was kind of hurt, and felt like I had been led astray but came to the realization that SOON is so much better than NEVER.

Today, i took Lexi to the car wash to get a full detail…polish, wax, interior shampoo at the car wash down the street from my job. They were supposed to call me when it was ready, but they didnt. I called them, and was amazed to see that the Lexi looked really good…brand spankin new. I tipped the man who had done most of the work and drove back to my own job. About three hours later when I left for lunch, I realized that they had “neglected” to put everything back into the middle compartment. I lost my garage door opener, a pair of Guess Sunglasses, two CDs, a notepad and pen, and……the Car Charger for the new Treo that I purchased not even 5 days ago. I drove straight to the car wash only to reach a CLOSED sign. An hour after that….it rained.

We went to see Vendetta and The Hills Have Eyes tonight. They were both really good movies, but we realized that people can not control their children these days. Talking throughout an entire movie is NOT COOL. Neither is swinging your leg and kicking someone’s chair and then denying it when they turn around to ask you to stop.

Someone I knew….their father died last Sunday. I received the news tonight.

Tomorrow morning *this morning*, in about 6 hours, my mom will be knocking on our door. We’ll be making the trek up to Palm Springs for the weekend, to spend a day or so relaxing and taking in the views while my mom gambles. We’ll be staying at the Morongo Casino, Resort, and Spa. It’s supposed to rain, but i dont care…

I dont profess to know a lot…but, the Lord works in mysterious ways…He opens doors that we can not see…and He’s ALWAYS on time…

You see, I know that God is working…and I know that he’s opening doors…and this mini vacation…is RIGHT on time…

Stay Blessed…

We were supposed to go to Gauthier Total Spa, but they were booked and didnt have room for two more. So we made do…It was her birthday, so it was pretty much up to her what she wanted to do. Happy Birthday Christal! BFFL!

Saturday Brunch

IMG 1391 400 IMG 1397 400

Incog and I spent Saturday chillin for the most part. We left for my mom’s house really early. We went to the Camarillo Outlets for a while. I bought some new Nike shoes, and few things from Guess. After, we went to my mom’s and took her to BJ’s for lunch. After that, we stopped at my grandmother’s on the way back to my mom’s house. We rented movies and chilled Saturday night…

Snowboarding Adventure

borderline big Its almost over... IMG 1406 400 Stop that!
Deuce 18 degrees outside Long ass Lines

This morning, we woke up and went to church. I made us late. After church, we came back home and watched tv for a while, before we headed out to MT. High to go snowboarding. There were SOOOOO many people there, it was crazy. We got there at 5, but it tooks us about 2 hours to actually make it to the top of the mountain and park. Then once we parked, we walked the rest of the way. We decided to stand in line to see if we could get rentals, before we paid, because we knew there were so many people there. We were told that we had to pay for the rentals before we could stand in the line. :uhh: So, I stood in line, while Incog went and paid for everything. When he got back to me, I had only moved about 3 feet. :wtf:

About an hour later, we were at the front of the rental line, and we got our boots…but when we turned the corner to go get our snowboards, we realized that we had to stand in line AGAIN for snowboards. I was COOL. Incog went to track down a manager to find out if we could get a refund. And 1 hour later, we were walking back to Lexi. It just didnt seem right that we planned to get there early (5) so that we could snowboard all evening, but that we’d only be able to snowboard for a good hour before we had to go home. Why pay the money?? What an adventure! :wtf:

:camera: – Photos from Our Snowboarding Adventure… < < upload em later

We’ll see what Monday holds…it’s a holiday ya know…

Lexi Is In ICU

16 Jan

I was trying to wait until I had some more concrete news….

Saturday, I posted a message saying that we were on our way to go snowboarding. :( But on the way, Lexi’s moonroof shattered when we turned up the Heat. It had to be about 20 °s outside. I think my brain did some type of downward spiral…

In any case, Sunday, we took it in and tried to explain what happened. They kept trying to tell me that it was a rock, but there was no rock to be found, and it had to be a BOULDER the size of the whole in the roof. What BOULDER do you know….FLIES? The guy who was on duty couldnt make a final call, and said he’d have to wait until today, Monday, to let me know after he spoke with his manager. They gave me a loaner (Lexus ES330), and told me to just keep it until they could figure out what they were going to do MY car. That’s one thing that I do like about Lexus. Honda would drive me to my house, and expect me to wait until the repairs were done and find a ride back or if I was within 10 miles, they’d pick me up. I like being able to go about my day.

I spoke with the manager this morning and he tried to say that it wasnt covered, this and that…and…pretty much, after the conversation, he said he’d have one of the workers order a replacement and get started on putting it in. *praise God*…I have to pick it up sometime this week, so they’re going to call me when it’s ready. :tearsjoy:

I should have taken pictures, but my brain wasnt there. I was too busy trying to figure out why…or, how come, or better yet…..HOW MUCH?

Saturday, we went to the Carshow and I have a few photos from there that I’ve added to the image gallery.

Welp…Monday is slowly coming to a close. We rented some movies and are gonna grab something for Incog to cook later. Gotta go back to work tomorrow  But, hopefully the week will go by fast being that we had today off.

I will have a Bally’s Update in a few weeks… It takes a few weeks to process, I guess.

Happy MLK Day! Have a good week!

Cars and Snowboards

14 Jan

Friday, January 13th, 2005

I ordered my first grad school book. :pissed: *falls over backwards* I might have to go to the library from now on and copy some pages. I keep telling myself that it will be good to have the book for when I start writing my thesis, whenever that will be.

Saturday, January 14th, 2005

We woke up rather early today and drove out to Gardena to see Incog’s dad. Then we headed to the LA Auto Show. God, it was so packed. And I never realized how RUDE people can be. Not one were people bumping into eachother without saying excuse me, but people were rushing in front of people to see cars that werent going to be moving for another week and a half, and one guy had the NERVE to BURP in my EAR. I just dont understand it. :wtf: I dont remember people being that rude last year. Or there being that many people, for that matter. Maybe we DO need to get out of California…move to one of the northern states…cause southern california is getting too…uh, run down. And I’ll leave that at that. Too many people, too many cars…just…TOO MUCH. I’m considering a weekend trip to Portland to see what it’s like in that area. Anything will be better than THIS, at this point.

I got my parking pass today from CSUN. I opted to purchase a parking pass instead of trying to scramble for street parking in the evening, although I did hear that it wasnt so bad. When I was at USC, I had a parking pass, but I still managed to rack up about $2,000 in parking tickets my senior year. Sorry Mom. :uhh: It was to the point where I would go into the Transportation Department and they would know my name…AND my car, being that it had spoiledRHOtten written on the rear window and RHOTTEN on the license plate. It was too ridiculous to dispute, so they just GAVE me a parking pass for the last two months after we had spent so much. :surprised: I dont want to go down that road again.

It’s hard to believe that classes are starting in a week. I mean…I’m gonna be in Grad School. Something that I didnt think I would WANT to do after four difficult years at USC. But alas, I’ve set some rigorous goals and I intend to meet them, not just for me…but for me and incog and any offspring. *giggle* That sounded so weird.

Right now, we’re trying to decide whether or not we want to go snowboarding tonight from 5pm to 10pm. It’s 29°s and I have to get some gear…*sigh*. We need to go to REI. Alright…must go tinkle. There’s nothing like having to go when it’s 30 °s outside and your legs feel like they’re going to freeze off.

Be back with pictures later…..
