Everyone always asks me why I can’t stand MACs.

The truth is…they just don’t do it for me.

My days with the MAC extend all the way back to 1988. My dad was a computer engineer for the military *among other things* and was always working on 3-4 computers at a time from home. So there was always a computer around. Always something to touch and inspect. Always something to look inside of. Always something to help take apart.

I remember the computer fairs…every first Sunday of the month, we’d go down to the local community center to visit the computer fair. My favorite things to do was to hang out by the game tables. And if I was lucky, I’d get a box of 10 5.25 Floppy disks…sort of a grab bag if you will. It was always filled with games and 1 or 2 educational games. They were blue… I remember that. My dad would buy the blue colored floppy disks so that he could separate my games from his programs which were always on black colored floppy disks.

I’d crawl under the covers if I could…but I have work to do. I dont have a choice right now.

There’s so much to do this weekend.

And I STILL haven’t gotten my manicure…guess that’s not happening.

I guess as soon as I start to excel in one area, I slack off in another…*sigh*.

I haven’t really had a chance to post in a few days. My bad. This week is flying by so fast. I feel like it was just. Sunday.

Random Thoughts for Wednesday:

• Thank God for Lysol wipes…
• Who ever thought choosing a paint color for an office would be so damn hard?
• I forgot Flavor of Love (Season 3) had already started.
• There are so many interesting people in the blogosphere…and I’m glad to have a good mix of acquaintances.
• God’s an awesome God…
• Time to get back on track with my training program. Hopefully I can get my body on a new schedule once I get the office setup and get used to driving to an office every morning. Maybe waking up at 5am is going to be the key to still being able to hit the gym in the morning. I’ll just have to take an earlier cycling class.
• I’m looking for a heavy flash programmer for contract work. If you know anyone, have them email me.

A new episode of The Gauntlet III is about to come on…must go.

Yep….flew to New York and got back Wednesday Night….been kind of a hectic few weeks….

Who knew I could be that chipper at 8am.

UPDATE ON: That Little F0cker – I got my $50 refund. I guess it was “the best they could do”…so Im not really complaining anymore. But I WILL be telling everyone I know about their little scam.

Anyhow…New York was a lot of fun…had my share of alchy and desserts on my down time from work. We didnt have time to explore the city because we were in Albany, but it’s okay because that means I’ll still be able to experience it w/ Incog one day.

Guess what showed up on my credit card today? :shocked:
I’m so HEATED, I cant even contain myself.:pissed:

I called the company again *since i havent heard from the owner since that day*…I spoke with one of his flunkies, who told me that theyd “Call him right now, I mean…tell him when he gets here”. SMH. My response? “Get your story straight. And let him know that I’ve already started my complaint with the BBB, and that I’ll be calling my card company once the payment clears so that I can dispute it. It would behoove him to call me back right away. *Click*”

A few minutes later *like i knew he would once he heard BBB*, DANNY FROM REGAL CARPET calls me and tells me that they havent charged my card yet; BS, because i already called WAMU and verified.

He tells me “No, the guy’s explaination doesnt make sense, but he went out of his way to go there the next day”. BS: He could have done the work he did the second day…THE FIRST DAY. He just wanted to be able to charge more.

He tells me “well, like i said…im only going to charge you $100 for the work. It takes 30 seconds to make the change”. BS: I was quoted $90.00 for the work originally.

When I asked him why it’s $10.00 more? He said “Because the guy was courteous to come back the next day”. BS: COURTEOUS??? You’ve GOT to be kidding me.

SMH. In doing my research I’ve found that this company has had 6 other claims against them through the BBB, check it out. I should have researched them before…but who woulda thought that they would have been so SHADY!

In my quest to rate them poorly on EVERY WEBSEARCH SERVICE I could find *f0ck em. they shouldnt have charged my card.*, I also found out even MORE information.Their Location Info

After calling WAMU, and filing the claim with BBB…I think I’m just OVER this whole situation. There are a lot of things that I would change. :uhh:

1) I would have walked away when that guy walked in and tried to tell me it would be more than was quoted over the phone. I could have easily called someone else and saved myself the stress and drama.

2) I would have gone with Good ol’ Stanley Steamer. Sometimes tryna save a few bucks ends up costing you WAY more in the end.

3) Look at the contract more carefully. I really didnt notice the $140.00 instead of $90.00 or the fact that he neglected to put “Truck Mounted”…or the fact that he put 3 bedrooms instead of Living Room, and Dining Room. :shocked:

Tell everyone you know…DONT F0CK WITH REGAL CARPET IN CANOGA PARK, CA. They’ll do ya dirty! And they should NOT be allowed to treat people that way.

I keep trying to find reasons to keep me in these last four classes this semester. I keep trying to tell myself that if I can just knock it all out and be done, then I should just do it and get it over with. But it doesnt seem to be that easy.

Maybe I’m tired, and my professor’s rant on the Declaration of Independence is just really killing my spirit. Isn’t it ironic?

I thought the vending machine would give me some mercy, but I only had a $5.00 bill….and it ate it. :wtf:

My stomach is growling. And all I can think about is…what my mom’s cooking for dinner tomorrow night. Better yet, what is incog cooking for dinner tonight. I can taste it now…

I guess you just have to look at the bigger picture…finishing these last 4 classes means that the only thing i have left is the Comp. *comprehensive exam* and the Comp class which is just a review of everything. Then i’ll be done, and I can have my night life back…I miss being able to stretch out after work and do absolutely nothing. I miss coming home and posting about my day. I guess it’ll be over soon enough… But….can you believe I’m considering my PHD? That’s 6 more YEARS! Not classes….:wtf:

We’ve got a few more minutes and we’ll be let go for the evening. I will be running to Lexi. Me and her have a date with a 5 minute drive, a 1 minute parking scheme, and an elaborate dash to the restroom. After which, I plan to lay in the middle of the living room floor…yep……that’s the plan.

A few weeks ago, me and incog went to Santa Monica Promenade. We witnessed a tragedy.

Incog must love ya’ll….I completely forgot that I had my camera and had to walk a little faster to catch up to the man in this photo. As you could see, his legs were long….and mine are just….not.

Last Friday, Incog and I went to Oxnard to meetup with my best friend Lael and her BF and new son. :hug:

I dont know if you remember, but I had been searching for her info for a long time, and we finally connected a few weeks ago. :woohoo: I missed her so much. Even though she hijacked my “baby name”. lol… The things you tell your girlfriends and cousin in PRIVATE. :uhh:

Last weekend, I traveled to Hemet to meetup with the rest of the bridesmaids and Tavia for Rehearsal. I didnt take pictures, but I should have. In any case, I’ll make sure to take lots of photos at the wedding this weekend. :camera: I still havent lost all the weight that I wanted to, but at least I fit the size dress I wanted to. :woohoo: I guess inches are more important than pounds.

Paper due this Friday…gotta finish it by Thursday to take into account that I’ll be doing lots on Friday, including driving out to Riverside again with a Lexi full of Bachelorette Party Decorations and Bridesmaids Outfits….

Welp…as you know, I havent really been posting lately, with classes and work and LIFE goin on. Yesterday, I secured some Lion King Tickets for the Saturday before Christmas. :curtsey: I was so hurt last year, because by the time I went to get tickets, all the VIP and Regular Tickets were gone. uch: I decided to get on top of it this year. I’m pretty sure that we’ll have a great time. It’ll be a good Pre-Graduation gift to myself as well. :woohoo:

With the way things are going, I SHOULD be graduating in January. But you know, God says…”Make Plans, and I’ll show you what mine are”…so I’m trying to just let things be what they will be..in ALL aspects of my life. :sun:

I’ve still got until July 1 to fit into this dress for my cousin’s wedding. I purposely bought it a size smaller so that I would have some type of motivation. I can fit it, and it zips, but it’s still a little snug in places that I know that I need to work on…..more motivation. The next photos you see of me will be at the wedding, so hopefully, I’ll be looking and weighing in a little slimmer.

Well, Kinda…a 15 page dissertation on Dysfunctional Management and a 20 minute presentation on what I’d learned….the last night of the class….WOO HOO…….:woohoo:…..8 More to go….:wtf:

I think this class was the roughest one I’ve had to take in my Master’s pursuit. I don’t think it would have been as bad had all of the stuff with the company not been going on *the month of helping plan the conference, the week long conference itself, the promotion* as well as the stuff that I was dealing with personally *health stuff*. I TRULY feel closer to God…I believe that May will be the toughest month of the year. Everything else will be good smooth sailing. :pray:

Anyhow…I’ve ordered my books for the Summer 06 Classes. Can you believe they start next week? I feel like I just finished one semester and now I’m having to jump RIGHT IN to more classes…..ALREADY! But there’s a goal at the end of this…and end result that I’m trying to keep reminding myself of. And I appreciate that you all are reminding me too. It helps.

Now that I’m able to breathe, I’ve really been concentrating on my health and things that I put into my body. I bought a new dress from Guess in hopes that by July 1, I’ll be able to actually put it on without suffocating or passing out from exhaustion in the efforts of trying to get it over my head and boobage. :shocked: So far, so good though. I dont expect immediate results, but I dont feel as rundown as I did before…and more importantly…my attitude and temper have much much better. It’s amazing what a change in diet can do for ya.

Incog and I are doing pretty swell. :couple: I wouldnt have it any other way…

OMG….It’s over….and I can finally breathe.
