God, Tuesday and Wednesday went pretty fast…

Tuesday, was a pretty good day. I have no serious complaints. I was able to redesign the Web Design site for 2006.

Today was a little more rough. One of my programmers flaked on me, so I have a huge project due in a few weeks that I’m a little stumped on right now…*sigh*…But I will survive.

Tomorrow, I have a few appointments…YEP, a few. I’ll let you know how they turn out.

I didnt really have anything to blog about so I thought I’d provide this quick lil update.

of the new Year…

I wasnt sure what my resolution would be this year…but I thought that using my disclaimer would be good along with a few “housekeeping” things that I’ve set for myself… so here goes nuthin…

My Disclaimer for 2006

I wanted to make sure that my intentions were clear. So I thought I’d put them out there…It’s about being real. This year, my intentions are to LOSE all those people who have become a hinderance in my forward movement; To IGNORE all of those people who have nothing good to say, or have issues with themselves, and feel the need to bring others down to their level; To DROP the haters and two faced fakers; And to REMOVE those who LIKE drama. This year is about forward movement…If you’re not about positiveness, enhancing my life in a positive way, have other intentions, or are dealing with negative issues of your own…DONT CONTACT ME.
If you’re offended, remain that way. I dont have time for drama.

Why I stated the above

It should be pretty clear. I have a lot of positive things planned for 2006, and I’m not going to sit back and allow things to interfere. I’ve always been one to have skyscraper dreams…and so far, things are falling in line. I think i’ve done pretty good for myself at 23 years old. By the grace of God, I’d like to keep the momentum going…

My little housekeeping resolutions

Well, I wanted to make sure I survived the first two days before I posted this…but alas, I’m here…so here goes…

• Slim and Trim by summer…performing routine health maintenance throughout the year

Incog and I joined LAFitness…LAFitness allows me to go to classes closer to home than Ballys, along with a few other perks. I’ve been waking up at 5:20am and going to the 5:45 am Cycling class that they offer. So far, it seems to be working…my butt hurts like crazy, and my jeans are fitting loosely around the behind region. :thumbsup:

• Maintain a 3.5 GPA with my Master’s Program

I’m pretty sure it WONT be easy, but I want to make sure that I have all the tools that I need to succeed. Call me a goody two shoes, but I’ve already been in contact with one of my professors whose class doesnt start until March. :blush: I just had to ask him if he would mind if I tape recorded his lectures. His response?

So long as you don’t share the tape with the folks at Homeland Security or other such entities, I’ll have
no objections! Of course, I’m kidding. Thanks for asking, and I don’t mind of course.

• Foster a better relationship with God

Since Incog will be off work on Sundays now, I’ll have a Church buddy. :couple: I mentioned it to him before, and he didnt seem to have a problem with it…so we’ll see when the Sundays start rolling around…

• Maintain a stable and happy relationship with Incog

He’s my saneness…my level headedness…my hugs when I get home from work. I pray that things remain as HONEST, caring and as loving as they are now. :tearsjoy: Well, those are just a few of the things that I’m hoping to accomplish this year. I’m going to pull an Incog and keep a few things to myself…:razz:

Thanksgiving Weekend

After work on Wednesday, I drove out to see my sands Britni, her newborn and my best friend Christal. Baby is SUPER CUTE! Congrats sands!

Incog and I woke up early on Thanksgiving Day. While he went to the gym, I went to handle some of my own errands. Once we met up at home, we showered, got dressed and headed out to Los Angeles to meet with his family for Thanksgiving. It was good to meet another side of Incog’s life. :tearsjoy: After that, it was back on the 101 FWY to my mom’s house to meet with MY family. Everyone was super hungry when we got there…and I think we all contracted the itis after we scarfed down all that food…lol. That night, I think my arms were going to fall off…we drove about 100 miles that day back and forth on the freeway… and I was getting sleeper with every passing minute on the Freeway. As soon as we got home, it was SOO good to relax.

On Friday, we ate, watched tv, and slept until the afternoon. We drove back out to his dad’s house in Gardena and hung out with him for a minute before meeting up with his sister and nephew for dinner. Good Convo, Good Food, Good Friday.

Saturday was very relaxed…we didnt want to do anything…so we watched football and the Good Times Marathon pretty much all day…

If Purging Wasn’t for Dummies…

I shouldn’t have gotten up for an extra helping of Lumpia on Thanksgiving…

As the new year approaches…and summer does the same…I have a never ending need to lose 30 pounds. I got off my toosh yesterday and went to the gym. It’s not that I havent been going, it’s just that…I havent been putting my ALL into it when I DO go. So…I bought a scale that calculates body fat, and body water as well as weight. I want to make sure that I’m doing what I need to do.

Impulsiveness Dies with Age

I almost bought a laptop lastnight on Ebay. As I get older, I realize that I’m not as impulsive a buyer as I used to be. If I wanted it, I’d go buy it. It took me about 3 weeks to talk myself into buying a new car…given my car was only a 2002 Accord, and I didnt have a car note anymore. I’m realizing that time to think actually helps. Had I bought that Laptop last night, I would have ended up with a dud. Upon futher inspection and conversation with the Seller, I found out that the Laptop had a few scratches on the bottom, and that it only had 28MB of HardDrive space. :pissed: Thank GOD, I didnt Bid.

Refinancing

After talking to my Spec this morning, as I normally do…I realized that I will probably be refinancing Lexi after 6 or 12 months or so. A lower car note would be grandfabulous. I’ve been an monthly member of Equifax Credit Watch 3-in-1 for about a year now. It’s what helped me pay off all of my open credit accounts once I graduated from USC. It helps to know where you stand, and what you need to do to have UNDENIABLE CREDIT. It alerts you everytime someone inquires on your credit, and everytime something is ADDED/DELETED/UPDATED on your credit report. I like that. It helps me look out for fraud being that I run an internet business. If you dont have it, you SHOULD, even if your credit is A+++ .

One person that you always hear me mention is God.

As I rolled out of bed this morning, jumped into some clothes, conversed with Incog about the “color” of his shirt, grabbed my Coach purse, looked to Incog to point me in the direction of the keys to my Brand New Lexus, flew downstairs behind Incog, and got in the front seat of my brand new car, and answered the talking lady who now exists in my brand new car, I realized something…

Only by the grace of God was I able to do all of the things I did this morning. Only by the grace of God was I able to even WAKE UP this morning.

Now you all know I’m not the preachy type, but something has to be said for a God who HEARS when you pray and RESPONDS when you pray.

I have so many things that I’m thankful for this year, I dont even know where to begin. I guess I’ll just start by saying:

Thank you for waking me up this morning, God. Thank you for loving me, God. Thank you for my mom and family, God. Thank you for Incog, God. Thank you for my true friends, God. Thank you for my job, my car, and everything that I have been blessed with, God.

I probably wont post again before Thanksgiving. And you all know that I’ll probably come back with a bazillion photos, but…

So far, I like it…it talks to me while I drive…I like that. No more getting lost in LA, as I have a tendency to do. GPS will be handling that now…Oh and i can see what I’m backing into now…*giggle*…the insurance rate and the car note, I could do without, but I guess that’s what you have to deal with huh? :surprised:

Many thanks to Incog for hanging in there with me and driving me up and down the 101 on Saturday. We went to about 2 Lexus dealers, 1 Honda, 1 Nissan, and I ended up getting the one I wanted anyways at a GRRRRRREAT rate given that it’s brand spanking new. Unfortunately, USAA likes to take that into consideration too, as if having LowJack wasnt enough. :pissed: It’s a New 2005 – NON-LEASED, so I was able to get it at the *we want this off of our lot* rate. Also, many thanks to mom who was full of advice, strange looks, and “are you sure”s this weekend. I really appreciate and love both of you.

For those bloggers who pray and are reading this right now, if you could send up a quick prayer for my grandmother who has been really sick this past week, I’d really appreciate it. She helped my mom in raising me after my father passed away from Cancer in 1995.

They’re both what keeps this family from really ACTING on their 5 second feelings and 10 minute plots. :tearsjoy:

I think I’m pissed off…*sigh*…

I’m mad at the fact that I cant even get out of this stupid contract unless there ISNT a Bally’s located within 20 miles of my home. That’s BS if you ask me. Good Shit Ballys! Good way to lock your clients in!

I called their corporate office yesterday after i made my post, which happens to be located in Norwalk (Long Beach), CA. And I spoke with this little girl who tried to explain to me, WHY after having been harrassed by one of their employees, I can’t cancel my membership. Bitch. I’d like to hereby REVOKE my endorsement of Ballys. Ballys SUCKS.

It looks like I’m stuck going to the Stuck-Up Bally’s up the street. I HATE that Ballys because everyone there is EXTRA rich and they look at you weird when you come in wearing a bandana.

You see, even though he did me dirty, I’m not the type of person to hold a grudge *unless you just did some off the wall shit*…So I did the cordial thing and kept it pushing. God don’t like ugly. Besides the trainer doesnt know I dont like him anyways… *sigh*

I worked out for a good hour and punished my muscles for taking so much time off. I dont feel the pain yet, but I’m sure I will tomorrow. You see, the second day after always hurts more than the day after. :duh:

Anyhow, it’s Wednesday and there’s hardly anyone here…I had to push back the meeting I rescheduled for today, until the middle of December, so it’s a load off of my mind, if only for a short while.

I heard back from the Lexus dealership down the street from my house. The RX that I want is in stock, so hopefully I’ll be able to hop into one sometime soon…we’ll see. They quoted me at about $41,000, which is better than I thought it would be. With my mom negotiating, I’m pretty sure we’ll be able to get a better deal. She negotiates for a living. :surprised: :thumbsup: In anycase, the real story is that I dont know for sure if I want the RX or just a new Honda Accord. Of course the Accord was quoted at $33,000 with everything that I wanted in it, but I said my next car would be an SUV. *sigh*

Since we were little, we’ve always been taught to stand in a line. We were standing in line to go into the classroom, standing in line to leave the classroom, standing in line to eat lunch, standing in line for our turn at the tether ball…etc. And now, as adults, we’re still standing in lines…at the bank, at the grocery store, and at the amusement parks (grown folks like rides too…lol).

People get tired of waiting. People dont WANT to wait for something. Patience may be a virtue, but who cares? Target has a policy that if there are more than 3 people standing in line at a cash register, a rep must come and open another register. I love Target. They listen to their customers…

But I guess no matter how old we get, we’ll still be forever standing in line. While at the bank today, I was standing in front of an older gentleman who found a solution to the inevitable problem of standing in line at the bank…

He walked in, ever so gingerly, carrying his fold out chair with cardboard backing. As he neatly crossed his legs and rested his arms on the check table, two MORE customer care reps suddenly appeared from the back. I guess those bank cameras work after all. The line quickly moved forward, and as soon as I was called to the front, the elderly man quietly stood and folded his seat anticipating his turn at the teller.

If only fast food restaurants worked this way…but alas…they don’t.

I assume that by the time I turn 60, I’ll still be standing in lines and quietly waiting my turn. I can only hope that the level of customer service that companies provide will improve as the years pass. Nowadays you never know if you’re going to be able to talk to someone with SOME kind of common sense, or someone who you can at least UNDERSTAND.

It’s about 3pm here, and I’m excited to go home so I can hit the gym. The only thing I’m NOT excited about is the waiting in line to get on the freeway. The 405 Freeway is the devil, and don’t let anyone tell you different.

My weekend was pretty good. Saturday morning, Incog and I woke up early to go running at the park. After, we went to my mom’s for lunch on Saturday and then headed back to catch “Get Rich or Die Trying” at the theatre. On Sunday, I went over to Jiffy Lube to get Abner an Oil Change and to Big 5 to get myself some more Adidas basketball shorts, and an excercise ball. I hated that thing when I was working with my Bally’s trainer, but now that I have my own, it’s not so bad after all.

I didnt like it because it was boring. The middle was just real…*what’s the word?*…slow.

In fact, Chicken Little was better than Jarhead…lol. That movie was funny. No lie.

Anyhow, our weekend was pretty quiet and we had NO complaints. It was good to just…CHILL and not do anything.

I’m hoping that this week goes pretty smoothly.

Update on the Washington Mutual Deposit Issue
Welp, apparently two of the checks that I tried to deposit last Sunday were cleared from their accounts, but the money still hasnt been credited to MY account. I called again this morning to see what the issue was, and what the status of my claim was and the lady told me that I had to wait until tomorrow and call back being that today was the 5th Business Day and they had up to 5 Business Days. :thumbsdown: My Response…

So YOUR machine fucked up, and closed down on MY deposit, Credited my account and then DEBITED my account and didnt allow me to pull out or suck in my envelope, and NOW…I dont have access to ANY of the money that I deposited? If I didnt want the money in my account, I wouldnt have made a DEPOSIT, dummy! *meep, meep* Are you getting all this?

So then she transferred me to the ATM Department who then transferred me to ANOTHER Department, who then didnt even bother to answer the phone.

I called back two more times before i got someone who was willing to do some footwork. She told me, I spoke to someone in the Claims Department and they’ve told me that they’ve received your phone calls and you should be getting a credit to your account today. :tearsjoy: Thanks!

Saw II

After I got off work on Friday, Incog and I went to see Saw II and as usual, planned to sneak into another theatre afterwards. Saw II was CRAZY! lol. I had my eyes covered/closed the whole time pretty much. Incog kept attempting to pull my hands down, which he normally has to do during scary movies, but I knew better. lol

After much contemplation, we decided to sit through…God, I cant even remember what the name of the movie was…lol..there was about 10 other people in the theatre besides us, and about 1/2 way through, we got up and left because I was asleep and incog was getting there.

Pee Wee Football
Saturday morning, we woke up and headed out to Hawthorne to watch Incog’s nephew’s pee wee football game. I had to stop off at Starbucks…you know me. lol…It was super cute watching the little black girls cheer their little brothers on.

Drugs…and other….Drugs
On the way home, Incog and I had a discussion about Mariquana…God, I didnt know there were so many different kinds. :surprised: I’m not a smoker of any sorts, so the topic was never of interest to me. But it was just interesting to know that you could walk up to someone and say “You got some stress?” I just cant imagine myself or anyone asking for “stress”. But hey…whatever makes ya happy/high! :thumbsup:

Sunday is usually my “get work done” day. I spent Sunday morning finishing up:

Waxing and Corn Removal
After finishing up the sites, I headed out for the day with a few errands in mind…*sigh*….sad state of affairs. When I got to the Salon where I normally get my eyebrows waxed, there was about a 20 minute wait because this black man and his wife were getting their corns done. :sick: The HORROR.

But Amy was there to hook up my eyebrows…so happy for that. She’s the best in the City. Trust me….you know about me and my eyebrows….lol.

Gimme back my money you stupid….
On the way from the salon, I thought to make a business account deposit through the drive through ATM since I would be passing it on my way to Targe’. A few clients still rely on paper checks to get things done, which is fine although it takes an extra step to get my cash. It’s not like it’s all done online, like most clients. Anyhow, as I was inserting the check deposit envelope into the machine, it decided to close to on my envelope. And then began the tug of war, the cursing, the middle finger at the video camera, the banging… *sigh*. It wouldnt give it back.

I know I know….it was for my own security, but…how much security is it when the envelope edge is sticking out of the Gatdamn Machine? Someone with enough will power would probably try to pry it out after I was gone. :thumbsdown: I called the 1800 number and spoke with someone who said that the machine would be maintenanced in the morning and not to worry.

I called the actual branch this morning, and he said maintenance would be there in the afternoon and realistically, “my deposit might not be in there”. :pissed:

Targe’
After spending 20 minutes searching the aisles for a halloween costume to wear to work today…I realized, it wasnt gonna happen, NOR was I REALLY in the spirit.

Maybe I’ll just go to work in my pajamas, throw my hair in pigtails, grab that old beat up UCLA bear on a noose, my pink furry slippers and ROLL OUT!

Eh…fugg it.

Halloween
No one’s in costume yet…there’s only three of us here. I’m SOO happy, I didnt wear my pajamas. Maybe no one will come in today and I wont have to put it on. I mean, it’s here….in my travel bag…maybe it’ll stay there.
