Incog and I saw two movies this weekend.

Wall-E was super cute and the Incredible Hulk was really good too. I would say that I liked them both about the same being that they were two different genres. I think I’d buy Wall-E on DVD though. I was surpised the Incredible Hulk was in a smaller theatre, but then I realized that it had been out already. Wall-E on the other hand…was packed with kids AND adults.

Saturday, Christal and I went to a joint bridal shower which was cool. Photos on Flickr.

Sunday, Incog and I went to my little cousin’s christening luncheon, which was really cute. It was great to see all of the family again … in one place. lol. I was glad to hear about all of the exciting things coming up. Yay Vegas. Ha!

Anyways, I’m back on the grind. More work to do this week. Less time to do it in.

I was sitting here, just thinking about how good things are right now and how God works in mysterious ways…I have nothing to complain about. It’s all smiles here.

CourtneyElizabeth.com will be 5 years old on June 5th…and wow what a whirl wind this domain name has been through! I hope to keep this blog up for another 5 years.

After I left the office today, I headed to the gym and put in 1 hour on the elliptical and a good 30 minutes on the cycle. I’ll be starting cycle class again soon and I want to make sure that my body is conditioned for it again. I love it, I love it, I love it! All the posers in the gym wear ‘SC gear…lol..I need to buy some USC Alumni work out gear…lol. Eh well, at least they’re fans. a tee hee…

Tonight, I made tacos with extra lean ground turkey meat…tomatoes and lettuce *for incog*…and they were so good…but portion control is the key! Filled up with water and orange juice and I’m good to go for another 2 hours until I can grab some applesauce to keep the metabo up. Over in her neck of the woods, Christal made “spasketti” tonight…I need to steal her recipe since Incog wont give me his. *mental note*

Okay, gonna go finish watching the game con Incog.

Usually this would be the day in kindergarten where you hope that you get more cards than everyone else…you know, before they started making it a requirement that you give everyone a card? Then it became the day that you hoped that the cards you got looked better than everyone elses’. Yours had to be special.

Not sure how many days, but I know it’s been a WHILE since my last post. Let’s see…Christal’s birthday was the 18th, and I posted two days after that making it the 20th, and today is the 28th, so…8 days, huh. :uhh:

I guess I’m at a point where…”I dont know” seems to be the magic phrase. Sometimes I wonder what keeps me pushing. I got a lot on my shoulders. You ever just wanted to stop and say….”I WANT OFF”! or even just stay in bed and pull the covers up and just pray that the next day you’ll actually WANT to get up? :surprised:

I found this old picture when I was browsing the computer last night. What’s weird is that I remember that day. It was a very cool day, and I was about to get ready to chill at home. I was always one to find joy in relaxing. Never really wanting to go out TOO much. I hated LA. It was so BLAH to me…I couldnt wait to move. I used to lay on my bed and watch old TV shows. A typical Saturday for me was actually just sleeping and watching tv throughout the day. That for me was enough.

Where am I going with this…

Right now, I wish a lot of things. I wish a lot of things would happen. I wish a lot of things would just BE. I’m starting to grow closer to God, and it’s almost scary because I’m CATCHING myself before I do something, or say something. When you ask for God’s guidance, he really DOES guide you. I just hope that what I want, and what I wish, will somehow come to fruitation. Better yet, I hope that what I want and what I wish, will be God’s will. :pray:

New Hairstyle and a Manicure…

Mine started friday afternoon. Christal braided my hair and then we went and got manicures and pedicures.
We were supposed to go to Gauthier Total Spa, but they were booked and didnt have room for two more. So we made do…It was her birthday, so it was pretty much up to her what she wanted to do. Happy Birthday Christal! BFFL!

Saturday Brunch

Incog and I spent Saturday chillin for the most part. We left for my mom’s house really early. We went to the Camarillo Outlets for a while. I bought some new Nike shoes, and few things from Guess. After, we went to my mom’s and took her to BJ’s for lunch. After that, we stopped at my grandmother’s on the way back to my mom’s house. We rented movies and chilled Saturday night…

Snowboarding Adventure

This morning, we woke up and went to church. I made us late. After church, we came back home and watched tv for a while, before we headed out to MT. High to go snowboarding. There were SOOOOO many people there, it was crazy. :thumbsdown: We got there at 5, but it tooks us about 2 hours to actually make it to the top of the mountain and park. Then once we parked, we walked the rest of the way. We decided to stand in line to see if we could get rentals, before we paid, because we knew there were so many people there. We were told that we had to pay for the rentals before we could stand in the line. :uhh: So, I stood in line, while Incog went and paid for everything. When he got back to me, I had only moved about 3 feet. :wtf:

About an hour later, we were at the front of the rental line, and we got our boots…but when we turned the corner to go get our snowboards, we realized that we had to stand in line AGAIN for snowboards. :shocked: I was COOL. Incog went to track down a manager to find out if we could get a refund. And 1 hour later, we were walking back to Lexi. It just didnt seem right that we planned to get there early (5) so that we could snowboard all evening, but that we’d only be able to snowboard for a good hour before we had to go home. Why pay the money?? What an adventure! :wtf:

Thanks to a coworker and Lonny, I might have an OUT to this Bally’s situation. I’m so happy. I was also able to wake up at 5 this morning and hit LAFitness. *pat on back* I refuse to be grouped with folks. Im gonna lose weight FOR ME if it kills me.

As the month of January progresses I’m starting to realize what I KNEW all along. Some folks are just…instigators for real.

The part that sucks most about it is that they try to act dumb when you mention the obvious. :pissed: I’m glad that I set my resolutions for 2006. Folks are making it real easy to follow them. But alas, I AM in the grown-up world… the world of money making… and responsibility. I promised myself that I would leave that other crap alone. And I will.
Some folks are just cut and dry. Get mad. Cut you off. You say your peace. You do your thing, I do mine. It’s whatever. It’s not like they pay YOUR bills.
Soooo, in this case…I’ll do my cordialities…and move along. Besides…things are GREAT in my world, aint no need to front for those watching, on this end. :thumbsup:

HOMES IN CALIFORNIA

It’s becoming increasingly clear that Incog and I might need to move out of California to get what we want. We subscribed to RealtyTrac this weekend to look at some houses. They list a lot of forclosures and new homes for sale. A lot of the listings didnt have pictures, but we did see ONE that we liked. I’m gonna be doing some more research as the months progress…

Arizona is hot…and that seems to be the only downfall. I’ll be closer to Erika which will be great…but then again, I’ll be farther from Christal. lol I already told her I’d fly her to come see me whereever we move. BFFL! *takin it back to high school for a minute…lol*

*sigh* Where ever it is, it wont be TOO far from California…family comes first…and I must say that I group my best friends in that family group. You’re right, April…TRUE friends are few. Speaking of which, I had a good convo with my spec today…we talk everyday throughout the day, but today was good…sometimes you need someone smart to explain the dumb people. Graduate for real, before you come at me! *inside joke* :rofl:

Thanksgiving Weekend

After work on Wednesday, I drove out to see my sands Britni, her newborn and my best friend Christal. Baby is SUPER CUTE! Congrats sands!

Incog and I woke up early on Thanksgiving Day. While he went to the gym, I went to handle some of my own errands. Once we met up at home, we showered, got dressed and headed out to Los Angeles to meet with his family for Thanksgiving. It was good to meet another side of Incog’s life. :tearsjoy: After that, it was back on the 101 FWY to my mom’s house to meet with MY family. Everyone was super hungry when we got there…and I think we all contracted the itis after we scarfed down all that food…lol. That night, I think my arms were going to fall off…we drove about 100 miles that day back and forth on the freeway… and I was getting sleeper with every passing minute on the Freeway. As soon as we got home, it was SOO good to relax.

On Friday, we ate, watched tv, and slept until the afternoon. We drove back out to his dad’s house in Gardena and hung out with him for a minute before meeting up with his sister and nephew for dinner. Good Convo, Good Food, Good Friday.

Saturday was very relaxed…we didnt want to do anything…so we watched football and the Good Times Marathon pretty much all day…

I shouldn’t have gotten up for an extra helping of Lumpia on Thanksgiving…

As the new year approaches…and summer does the same…I have a never ending need to lose 30 pounds. I got off my toosh yesterday and went to the gym. It’s not that I havent been going, it’s just that…I havent been putting my ALL into it when I DO go. So…I bought a scale that calculates body fat, and body water as well as weight. I want to make sure that I’m doing what I need to do.

Impulsiveness Dies with Age

I almost bought a laptop lastnight on Ebay. As I get older, I realize that I’m not as impulsive a buyer as I used to be. If I wanted it, I’d go buy it. It took me about 3 weeks to talk myself into buying a new car…given my car was only a 2002 Accord, and I didnt have a car note anymore. I’m realizing that time to think actually helps. Had I bought that Laptop last night, I would have ended up with a dud. Upon futher inspection and conversation with the Seller, I found out that the Laptop had a few scratches on the bottom, and that it only had 28MB of HardDrive space. :pissed: Thank GOD, I didnt Bid.

Refinancing

After talking to my Spec this morning, as I normally do…I realized that I will probably be refinancing Lexi after 6 or 12 months or so. A lower car note would be grandfabulous. I’ve been an monthly member of Equifax Credit Watch 3-in-1 for about a year now. It’s what helped me pay off all of my open credit accounts once I graduated from USC. It helps to know where you stand, and what you need to do to have UNDENIABLE CREDIT. It alerts you everytime someone inquires on your credit, and everytime something is ADDED/DELETED/UPDATED on your credit report. I like that. It helps me look out for fraud being that I run an internet business. If you dont have it, you SHOULD, even if your credit is A+++ .

Saw II

After I got off work on Friday, Incog and I went to see Saw II and as usual, planned to sneak into another theatre afterwards. Saw II was CRAZY! lol. I had my eyes covered/closed the whole time pretty much. Incog kept attempting to pull my hands down, which he normally has to do during scary movies, but I knew better. lol

After much contemplation, we decided to sit through…God, I cant even remember what the name of the movie was…lol..there was about 10 other people in the theatre besides us, and about 1/2 way through, we got up and left because I was asleep and incog was getting there.

Pee Wee Football
Saturday morning, we woke up and headed out to Hawthorne to watch Incog’s nephew’s pee wee football game. I had to stop off at Starbucks…you know me. lol…It was super cute watching the little black girls cheer their little brothers on.

Drugs…and other….Drugs
On the way home, Incog and I had a discussion about Mariquana…God, I didnt know there were so many different kinds. :surprised: I’m not a smoker of any sorts, so the topic was never of interest to me. But it was just interesting to know that you could walk up to someone and say “You got some stress?” I just cant imagine myself or anyone asking for “stress”. But hey…whatever makes ya happy/high! :thumbsup:

Sunday is usually my “get work done” day. I spent Sunday morning finishing up:

Waxing and Corn Removal
After finishing up the sites, I headed out for the day with a few errands in mind…*sigh*….sad state of affairs. When I got to the Salon where I normally get my eyebrows waxed, there was about a 20 minute wait because this black man and his wife were getting their corns done. :sick: The HORROR.

But Amy was there to hook up my eyebrows…so happy for that. She’s the best in the City. Trust me….you know about me and my eyebrows….lol.

Gimme back my money you stupid….
On the way from the salon, I thought to make a business account deposit through the drive through ATM since I would be passing it on my way to Targe’. A few clients still rely on paper checks to get things done, which is fine although it takes an extra step to get my cash. It’s not like it’s all done online, like most clients. Anyhow, as I was inserting the check deposit envelope into the machine, it decided to close to on my envelope. And then began the tug of war, the cursing, the middle finger at the video camera, the banging… *sigh*. It wouldnt give it back.

I know I know….it was for my own security, but…how much security is it when the envelope edge is sticking out of the Gatdamn Machine? Someone with enough will power would probably try to pry it out after I was gone. :thumbsdown: I called the 1800 number and spoke with someone who said that the machine would be maintenanced in the morning and not to worry.

I called the actual branch this morning, and he said maintenance would be there in the afternoon and realistically, “my deposit might not be in there”. :pissed:

Targe’
After spending 20 minutes searching the aisles for a halloween costume to wear to work today…I realized, it wasnt gonna happen, NOR was I REALLY in the spirit.

Maybe I’ll just go to work in my pajamas, throw my hair in pigtails, grab that old beat up UCLA bear on a noose, my pink furry slippers and ROLL OUT!

Eh…fugg it.

Halloween
No one’s in costume yet…there’s only three of us here. I’m SOO happy, I didnt wear my pajamas. Maybe no one will come in today and I wont have to put it on. I mean, it’s here….in my travel bag…maybe it’ll stay there.

Last Night was cool…After work, I headed home on the slow-0-5 and finally reached there at about 6pm. I talked to Christal the whole way home. My patna in crime…lol. We hadnt talked like that in a few weeks and it felt good to listen and be heard.

After that, I headed over to the gym to get my good workout in. But I got “punished” :pissed: for not coming in the day before *Wednesday*…eh well. everyone needs a good kick in the pants every once in a while. Keeps ya stamina up. *giggle*

After that I headed home to get some work in because I knew that I was going to be doing LITTLE TO NO work this weekend. Around 10pm we headed out to Step Practice for the Fall 2005 Yardshow at USC. It was good to see my sands and sorors again. :grouphug: I’m kind of out the loop now that I live about 30-45 minutes away and we’re all so busy and ….well, GROWN. :girlie:

We grabbed a quick bite at Jerry’s on the way home….nice nice.

It felt good to see everyone again….and by the end of the weekend, I’m sure everyone will be tired of seein me.

I heard from Incog this morning, so that was cool. He’s doing fine and they’re about to make their travels today a little further north from where they are now. I hope things go smoothly..He seems like he’s doing pretty good though, which makes things a little lighter on my brain. Constantly in prayer….

welp, it’s over….the housewarming is finally over….but no amount of planning could have prepared me for Saturday morning…lol…we woke up and slept in because we knew we’d be lacking sleep this morning *Sunday*…and after we were fully awake, we hit up about 5 different stores to get everything we needed…..savon, ralphs, albertsons, target, and finally, vons…..it was a lot of stress, but we finally made it through ….

after we got back, we cleaned up a little and got down to unpacking the groceries, putting the cake up, and wale started preparing the meat for the grill….Brandy was the first to arrive, surprisin the crap out of me who was still in my draws coming out the shower…lol….hugs and kisses, we talked while people called mine and her phone trying to get directions…..

next to arrive was alon…when alon got here, we went to albertsons because incog needed more chicken and a brush for the barbeque sauce….when we got back, christal and brianna showed up….we all just messed around for a little bit until andrea and jb showed up…..then in order it was, lucho, lucho’s sister, lucho’s two friends, oj, then a little later, audris, cassandra, brandi (with an “i”), perry and chucky….lol

we ate while we watched “Boyz in the Hood”. Incog was on point with the barbeque….he did his thing, and I was sooo proud. Then us girls went down to the pool, while the boys stayed upstairs and watched “Baby Boy”….some of the girls were talking and playing Spades, while Christal was swimming in the pool and I was getting my feet wet…..

After a while, we all came back upstairs and I put out the cake *WHICH I FORGOT TO TAKE A PICTURE OF*…and then we got to drinking……..lol…some of us had been drinking from earlier, so we just drank somemore…lol…..we had buttery nipples….simple concoctions, green apple smirnoff……the good stuff….
we played pennies for a while and then we started playing DVD games, which was pretty tight…

I know Alon was the first to start nodding off, and then it was me shortly there after….in between waking up and acting like i was awake the whole time, i saw Brianna on the floor, and then some folks leaving and then, when i woke up…..christal and alon were passed out in the middle of the living room, and incog was in the bedroom knocked out….lol…..

all in all, we all had a great time…thanks to:

my baby – incog, andrea, brandy, christal, brianna, jb, alon, oj, lucho, jermaine, perry, cassandra, audris, brandi, and chuck

it was really great seeing everyone again and I appreciate the warm wishes and celebrating this new beginning that me and incog have decided to embark on….i love you guys…
