I know…I know…
It’s been a while sounds soo…
Redundant.

Truth is…sometimes it’s easier to just write stuff on Facebook
But I’m gonna try to be better about updating the blog too…

The Mobile version of Courtney Elizabeth is available at girldriven.com. If you’re on tumblr, you can follow me from this link directly.

I’ve been trying to keep up…and I think I keep up with the Mobile Version more, because I’m usually traveling or on the go more…lol.

Be that as it may…
Life has been good… and …
God has been good

I’ve been busy with traveling and overall business in general.
One thing I’ve been reminded of over the past month is that…you can’t slow down…you can’t give up…and anything you want, you can obtain. Prayer Works.

I’ll be in touch…

No grilled cheese in Canada.

14 Apr

me.

I never really got to report on my trip to Montreal… Mainly because I’ve been trying to keep things as vague as possible… Reasons i won’t really get into on the bl0g.

However… i wanted to share a little…because it’s still my bl0g, and my little world…and I can do whatever I want…

Not really knowing the area, I was glad when a friend of mine offered to play chauffeur for the day. I was really nervous, but when we got to the location that I needed to be at…and introductions were given all around… I could pretty much tell who was gonna be cool…and who was going to be an…*eyeroll – heel toe pivot*…

Ally was the first person to come up to me and introduce herself. she’s real cool…and I’m glad I got a chance to meet her…

After all work was done…, we all hung out at Bistro L’Aromate. Even though I couldn’t order grilled cheese, it was uber g00d. ^_^

I knew I wasn’t gonna be staying long, but got a hotel room so that I could have a chance to BREATHE and hopefully nap before heading back to the states… A group of us all went back and were hanging out in my room finishing the conversation from dinner, when Ally decided that she needed to practice her cartwheels. She fell. We all laughed. And I laughed hard. We managed to fire off some shots of her fall, but she FURTHER managed to threaten the shit out of all of us before they could get to our blogs. lol. I managed a couple of myself, of course. Ally didn’t want to be in any more photos for obvious reasons. lol!

Anyways, there were some…”eh” points of the quick turn around trip, but…I wanted to highlight the good points and make sure I noted the trip in my little bl0g here. If a lot of it was vague it was on purpose…because this one was mainly just for my little memory bank.

I hope next time, I’ll have more time to spend hanging out with the cool folks I’ve met over the past few years…including Moe who has seemingly “blacklisted” me because I didn’t get a chance to say “hell0″. Two days of airplanes and meetings comes and goes too fast, but I’ll be sure to stay longer next time.

Til next time…au revoir…

Things have just been c.razy nuts the past month…

I’ll try to remember to post interesting tidbits as they present themselves…

It’s just a matter of getting up the energy to do so…

I’ll be better though… I promise.

The past month or so has been filled with traveling, working and just… living.

If I don’t see an airplane or an airport for another week, I’ll be happy with that…

I’ve been trying to be better about the vid cams…so add me on facebook if you want those…

alright. back to work. my grind is crucial.

Back from Alabama…

19 Feb

work:_MG_6182

I never thought I’d ever go to…
Alabama…

When I got there, I didn’t realize that I knew somebody who lived there until I was already there…and half asleep…00ps.
See…I knew I was supposed to be better about this networking thing…but if I can’t remember where people live… FAIL.
Next time, J.Dakar.

The plane fiascos never cease. lol. I almost boarded a plane to Honolulu before I realized that I was at the right gate…just…early as all get out. a ha!

Anyways, it was a great.quick.turnaround.trip that yielded some progress on a project that’s taken me 8 years to get back into. FAIL on my part. But Win.Win. in the end.

So… here are some of the photos. The others…well…I can’t really show those yet.

Put in work.

Glad to be back in Cali…

God always answers.

30 Jan

hmmm.

It’s the truth.

I’m just saying it out loud…

It may not necessarily be the answer that you want to hear…and it may not necessarily be right.now.

…but He does…

I’ve got some serious life changing things going on right now.
So I may not necessarily be so quick to write up a post as I would have been six months ago. But I hope that you’ll bare with me…

And stick around to see what things I have up ahead.

Dear God…
Thank you for opening doors that we can not see…
And Thank you for making us strong enough to be able to walk through those doors…
Whatever you want, God…
Whater you want.
Love, Court…

A Quick Wrap-Up.

23 Jan

grrr

A quick wrap-up of the week would go something like this…

He came.
He saw.
President Barack Obama conquered.

My President is black.

Wow. That felt really good to type and it sounds really good out loud too. I remember saying that over and over and over again on Tuesday… It was followed by the greatest feeling ever.

I woke up Tuesday and spent most of the day on CNN.com Live. I had both TVs turned to different channels that were broadcasting the Inauguration of President Barack Obama.

I didn’t want to go anywhere…
I didnt want to do anything…
The only thing I wanted to do … was watch and listen.

Oh…what a great day. ^_^

The rest of the week wasn’t really much compared to Tuesday…
But I will say…that I’m happy that the weekend is here.
It couldn’t have come soon enough.

Oh yeah…and

My President is Black.

w00t w00t!

What’s Done is Done…

20 Jan

I swear January feels like it just started…but … it didn’t.

I’ve been saying that I was going to type up a post soon, but hadn’t gotten around to it because I knew that whatever I typed was going to be negative…and who wants to follow an empowerment speech with one riddled with … negativity.

If I had the energy, I’d name all of the bad/horrible/negative things that happened so far this month…just so that they could be out in the open and I could move.on.

But I’d rather just state the positive things in hopes of turning this weird little month around and getting back on track for the last two weeks.

So here we go…

  • The Eagles didn’t win.
  • Tomorrow is a new day to start over.

lol.

While the list may seem small…it brings me much joy.

So…here’s to starting over…even when the end is near.

…alright, lemme try to get some rest…this waking up in the middle of the night is horrible…*sigh*

This is Operation: You…

8 Jan

No matter what happened last year, you now have a mission; it’s a new year…it’s a new chance to start over.

The Regrets

Everything happens for a reason. And no matter how hard you sit and over analyze the things that you couldn’t change even if you wanted to…or how you didn’t do the things you initially set out to do, those things won’t change. Don’t regret them. Learn from them.

The Downs

If I were to ask you to name everything that happened to you last year, I’m sure you’d name about 10+ negative things that happened before you named 1 good thing that happened. Don’t. Yeah, it isn’t as easy as it sounds, but guess what…they don’t matter anyways.

The Uplifts

Remember those negative things you named…well, no matter who you are, or how much of a FAIL year you had previously…there was at least one good thing that happened to you. Think on it. Then…think harder…there will always be at least one more…

The Do Over

So…guess what? It’s a new year…a brand new year to make new changes, to set new goals…and to ultimately develop a better you.

All of those people you pissed off or you allowed to piss you off…apologize, forgive them or let them go.

All of those things you didn’t think you could do…know that you can.

All of those things you wanted to do last year, but didn’t…do them.

Do all that you can to develop the best you that you can be, and don’t let anyone stand in your way.

Go.

It’s 2009…and while it’s hard to believe right now…I know that this year is going to be a great year. There were a lot of things about 2008 that I wish I could change…and do over…but I can’t.

It’s a new year…and I have a new chance to do things the way they need to be done… the right way; the best way for me.

I learned a lot in 2008…some things I wish I hadn’t…but I knew that I needed to learn them. And I’m glad that I did. There are quite a few things about 2008 that I dont want to repeat in 2009. And it’s not that 2008 was a bad year…it’s just that I didn’t do some of the things that I had originally set out to do. And I managed to work backwards instead of forwards in quite a few situations.

I learned that I love deeply…and that I care hard.

I learned that I smile when I feel like I’m about to cry.

I learned that to some people 2 + 2 does not always equal 4.

I learned that I set high standards for people because I continue to set high standards for myself, and when people failed to meet those high standards, I felt let down. But… those were my set standards… and they were not theirs to keep

I learned that I can’t stand the rain, other than to stay curled up in bed.

I learned that I love watching the sunset as much as I love watching the stars.

I learned that for right now…California is home…and that probably won’t change for a while.

I learned that I tend to hold onto my mistakes too long before letting them go and learning from them.

The following statement holds true: People only tell you what they want you to know. And I’m not going to sit here and rehash all of the things that I learned and gained in 2008. But I will say that I learned a lot about myself.

So this is what it is for 2009…

I will continue to love deeply and care harder.

And I will never stop being me.

I’m excited for 2009. Let’s go.

Post Imminent Slack.

22 Dec

Ready... no really...

I’ve been on that good slack mode.

I swear I didn’t mean to…

Things have been really busy at the office *Praise God*

…and life itself has kinda just pushed me into a “get it done” spirit.

Every time I thought about blogging, I tried to remind myself that I had other things to do…lol.

In fact, I can name a bunch of crap I should be doing right.this.second.

But I’m not going to for fear that I might realize how MUCH crap I really need to be doing and not finish this post.

So let’s just do it like this…

  • My Blackberry Storm arrived just in time for the rainy season.
  • The first day I had it was FAIL.
  • I almost asked for a refund.
  • I can no longer text and drive efficiently, but I’m learning.
  • I have to text and drive. It’s what I do.
  • Save the safety speech, please.
  • I’ve heard it 50-11 times.
  • I managed to hack the shit out of it…to get it to do what I need it to do.
  • Since then…we’ve been win-win together.
  • And since inquiring minds wanna know…
  • No, I haven’t named my new Blackberry Storm … yet.
  • I bought a few party dresses a few weeks ago in preparation for the Holiday party season.
  • Wore one to Kappa Khristmas Jam 2008.
  • Bri Bri came for KKJ; I was uber happy.
  • Like Super Uber.
  • Wore one to Climb, Inc Gala 2008.
  • Got to hang out with j.erika, tiff, leslie, renee, miracle and des
  • These girls are great…
  • Do.Over – New Years 2009 – Erika and Raheem are doing it up big!!
  • The Ball is Dropping, ya’ll! Make sure you’re there.
  • But…all in all…had fun at both events.
  • Was working slave hours prior to this week.
  • Glad to finally have some down time.
  • Looking forward to the New Year and starting 2009 off FRESH.

Truth is…

  • I’m a little concerned about 2009.
  • I have a feeling it will be a year of great change…
  • Not that I’m scared of change, but…damn…

Sometimes doing what God wants me to do, isn’t super inline with what I REALLY wanna do.
But I realize that He’s in control.
So…
I’ll take it.

Bring on 2009.

Mushy Mushy and all that other stuff…

get.organized.stat.

8 Dec

get.organized.stat.

The past few months have been somewhat of a blur.

As you can see from my shoe closet…I have little time to sit and organize and actually put things where they need to be. I’m in and out…constantly.

I almost had a mild coronary when I searching for my tenni-runners to wear to the office this morning. Sad state of affairs, I tell you.

Luckily, the shoe closet is the only area of my place that looks…like…this. My minor OCD keeps me from having the rest of my living space look as unorganized.

I can shut the door on this. Or simply close my eyes and reach in and just deal with whatever I pull out each morning. It’s a real treat trying to match my clothing to my shoes, just so I don’t have to actually open this door.

*hanging head in shame*

Sweet Minty Jesus, I’ll get it together. I will.

It’s almost 2009. I have no choice.
