Ad Bowl – Vote on Super Bowl Ads

Since Super Bowl half-time shows are now a toss-up and haven’t been hot since Michael Jackson’s show in 1993, and Prince’s show in 2007, I’ve become a fan of Super Bowl ads. Hell, sometimes the ads are more entertaining than the damn game itself!

So this year, I’ll be watching AND voting for ads on AdBowl.com®.

At AdBowl.com®, you can vote for the ads you love, the ones you like, and the ones that make you lunge for the remote. If you don’t want to rate the commercials during the big game, simply login immediately afterwards and submit your scores.

I’ll be using the AdBowl® iPhone App to vote on the ads during the game. Something’s gotta keep my entertained.

Imagine that!
My first post of February is about FOOTBALL, and the Cowboys aren’t even in the Super Bowl. But that’s okay, because the Super Bowl will be played at COWBOY stadium, son!

Let’s go Cowboys! w00t!

Do You Use In-N-Out’s Secret Menu?

In-N-Out-Cheese-Fries-Secret-Menu
by Courtney Elizabeth · January 26, 2011 · Foodie ·

Are you one of those cool people who orders from In-N-Out’s Secret Menu?

You pull up to the window and you order some off the wall sounding burger that your friend’s never heard of?

You think you sound cool, dontcha?

Well…you are. Ha!

But just in case you need a refresher on what’s really on the menu, and what you made up in your head because it sounded good, here’s a list!

My Favorites from the List

Cheese Fries

In N Out Cheese Fries Secret Menu 500x333 Do You Use In N Outs Secret Menu?

Fries with cheese on top. Duh.

Fries Well-Done

In N Out Fries Well Done Secret Menu 500x353 Do You Use In N Outs Secret Menu?

You know those delicious little brown crispy fries that you find in the bottom of the bag sometimes? Wouldn’t it be great if you could get an entire order of them? Your welcome.

Extra Toast

Leaves your bread on the grill a tad longer resulting in “crispy buns,” which is not as dirty as it sounds. Can be ordered with any burger. You can also get the bun lightly toasted or untoasted. Not a good idea though. They toast the buns so that they have some rigidity and don’t get soggy by the condiments.

Neapolitan Shake

In N Out Neopolitan Shake Secret Menu 500x333 Do You Use In N Outs Secret Menu?

All three shake flavors in one delicious cup. Because shakes are so thick, the flavors stay separated.

Root-Beer Float

In N Out Rootbeer Float Secret Menu 500x333 Do You Use In N Outs Secret Menu?

An old favorite. Yum.

Cut-In-Half

In N Out Cheeseburger Cut In Half Secret Menu 500x333 Do You Use In N Outs Secret Menu?

No big trick here. Ask for any burger to be cut in half, and it will be.

What? I like my hot dogs cut up into pieces too. #dontjudgeme

Bend It Like Kermit – Stretching for Health

Bend-It-Like-Kermit-Stretches
by Courtney Elizabeth · January 25, 2011 · Sports & Fitness ·

I used to hate stretching. Mainly because we had to do it before we could play dodgeball in Junior High PE class.

I’ll still admit that I sometimes (Read: most times) forget to stretch my legs out after I’ve finished my run or workout.

And now that I’m waking up early to hit the treadmill, the only thing I’m thinking about stretching at 5 am is my sleep duration.

In talking to twin the other day, she mentioned that she was doing some stretches with her boys that they just love super much. So I thought that it’d be a good idea to look up some leg and calf stretches. After all, if a 3 year old can do it… *eyebrow raise*

In my quest to find stretches for myself, I found Kermit… bent over in all kinds of compromising positions.

I hope these will help you in your before and after gym stretches.

Verizon Wireless Customers: SMS Message from FB to Make a Voice Call to 911

FB-Message-Please-Make-Voice-Call-to-911-No-Text-Service
by Courtney Elizabeth · January 24, 2011 · Girl Geek ·

Things just keep getting worse for Verizon Wireless Blackberry Customers.

Starting last week, we’ve been experiencing issues sending and receiving BBMs, Emails are delayed about 3 – 5 hours, and the Web Client just refuses to cooperate randomly. This outage has been affecting us since Monday of last week, and is STILL going.

My Blackberry is now a high-priced paperweight. Thanks, Verizon Wireless

Now, I’m getting SMS Messages from FB instructing me to:

“Please make a Voice Call to 911. There is no text service to 911 available at this time.”

Apparently, FB SMS was hacked and this is only affecting Verizon Wireless Customers.

So, if you have a Blackberry AND you’re on Verizon Wireless, consider yourself to be f0cked.

If you’re like me, you’ll be calling Verizon Wireless and sitting in a queue of reportedly up to an hour to get a credit for all of the crap they’ve been dishing us the past week.

FYI: Verizon has been denying the outage when you call in. Some people have been convinced to get replacement phones as a result only to find that the issue still exists with their new phone. Do NOT get a replacement, or purchase a new phone. Call them on their Bullsh*t until you get the credit you deserve.

If you have to sit there and go through “troubleshooting” until you get your credit, do so. Verizon will continue to be bombarded with credit request calls until they get their shat together.

Dear Verizon, You Suck.

World Star Hip Hop Shutdown By Feds? Or 50 Cent?

According to several sources, federal authorities have shut down the popular urban website, WorldStarHipHop.com. The site went down without warning earlier today (January 24th).

WorldStar is known for showing rap videos, footage of rappers engaging in ignorant behavior, fights, news clips and the occasional sex tape. If it was outrageous, it probably sourced WorldStarHipHop.com. Matter of fact, when I think WorldStarHipHop.com, I think of 50 Tyson the rapper. Ha!

Federal authorities have already shut down the sites, OnSmash and Rap Godfathers, last year as well as several torrent sites. Rapper 50 Cent has claimed that he is responsible on Twitter:

In November 2009, 50 Cent filed a lawsuit against the website, claiming his image and content were used on the website without his permission.

Hmm.
The story behind this will get interesting, I’m sure.

You know you want some.

If you don’t…I do.

The Adidas Facebook Superstar shoe comes in Facebook blue and features the networks logo on the heal and tongue. Inside the shoe the slogan: “Facebook is a social utility that connects you with the people around you” is printed.

The Twitter shoe comes in the traditional Twitter colors with Twitter bird on the heal.

MLK Day 2011

Just thought I’d share my favorite Martin Luther King Quote…

“The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.” — From “Strength to Love”.

Have a great week, folks!

Pandora One for Productivity

by Courtney Elizabeth · January 12, 2011 · Entrepreneur, Music ·

Music keeps me working. It’s as if I do more work when music is playing in my ear.

I finally end a “never-ending” conference call, and the appropriate “f*ck that b*atch” song comes on and I’m back in the swing of it all cursing and designing.

It’s great.

I usually have the Pandora website playing in the background because I like being able to select an artist and having them create a playlist based on who I chose. They’ll play my favorite songs, but they’ll also throw in some new ones that I usually like as well. If I like the new songs, I’ll open up Google and download the song to add to my iTunes to throw into my daily run or workout.

Today, I thought about simply purchasing Pandora One so that I can take advantage of some of the features that they’ve listed.

  • Unlimited Listening
  • No Ads
  • Higher Quality Audio
  • Fewer Interruptions
  • Custom Skins

Now, I’m a designer, so you know when I saw ‘Custom Skins’ my thought was, “Suh-weeet! Maybe it’s like FireFox and WinAmp! Maybe they’ll have a Community where I can create and share my own Skin!” But I don’t think Pandora does that yet. If someone in development hasn’t come up with that idea yet, they need a new development team. My ideas are available for hire…kinda.

I think I might purchase it today and see how it is. I’ll let you know.

If you have it, let ME know what YOU think.

Stepping Out On Faith

live-by-faith-not-by-sight
by Courtney Elizabeth · January 10, 2011 · Life ·

I fear the unknown.

Letting go, and letting God do what He does has always been the hardest thing for me. Whether it’s business or personal, I’m a worrier. I admit it. It’s true. I worry about everything and pretty much everyone who is important to me.

After talking with a friend today, I realized that I’ve been holding back lately…and I don’t want to do that anymore. That’s not what I want for 2011.

So, once again, I’m stepping out on faith…and attempting to “live by faith, not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7) “.

It’s gonna be a great year. I have faith that it will be.
