Saw II

After I got off work on Friday, Incog and I went to see Saw II and as usual, planned to sneak into another theatre afterwards. Saw II was CRAZY! lol. I had my eyes covered/closed the whole time pretty much. Incog kept attempting to pull my hands down, which he normally has to do during scary movies, but I knew better. lol

After much contemplation, we decided to sit through…God, I cant even remember what the name of the movie was…lol..there was about 10 other people in the theatre besides us, and about 1/2 way through, we got up and left because I was asleep and incog was getting there.

Pee Wee Football
Saturday morning, we woke up and headed out to Hawthorne to watch Incog’s nephew’s pee wee football game. I had to stop off at Starbucks…you know me. lol…It was super cute watching the little black girls cheer their little brothers on.

Drugs…and other….Drugs
On the way home, Incog and I had a discussion about Mariquana…God, I didnt know there were so many different kinds. :surprised: I’m not a smoker of any sorts, so the topic was never of interest to me. But it was just interesting to know that you could walk up to someone and say “You got some stress?” I just cant imagine myself or anyone asking for “stress”. But hey…whatever makes ya happy/high! :thumbsup:

Sunday is usually my “get work done” day. I spent Sunday morning finishing up:
Alpha Beta Chapter and
Beta Rho Chapter. Still have a few things to finish up…but other than that….I’m DONE!

Waxing and Corn Removal
After finishing up the sites, I headed out for the day with a few errands in mind…*sigh*….sad state of affairs. When I got to the Salon where I normally get my eyebrows waxed, there was about a 20 minute wait because this black man and his wife were getting their corns done. :sick: The HORROR.

But Amy was there to hook up my eyebrows…so happy for that. She’s the best in the City. Trust me….you know about me and my eyebrows….lol.

Gimme back my money you stupid….
On the way from the salon, I thought to make a business account deposit through the drive through ATM since I would be passing it on my way to Targe’. A few clients still rely on paper checks to get things done, which is fine although it takes an extra step to get my cash. It’s not like it’s all done online, like most clients. Anyhow, as I was inserting the check deposit envelope into the machine, it decided to close to on my envelope. And then began the tug of war, the cursing, the middle finger at the video camera, the banging… *sigh*. It wouldnt give it back.

I know I know….it was for my own security, but…how much security is it when the envelope edge is sticking out of the Gatdamn Machine? Someone with enough will power would probably try to pry it out after I was gone. :thumbsdown: I called the 1800 number and spoke with someone who said that the machine would be maintenanced in the morning and not to worry.

I called the actual branch this morning, and he said maintenance would be there in the afternoon and realistically, “my deposit might not be in there”. :pissed:

Targe’
After spending 20 minutes searching the aisles for a halloween costume to wear to work today…I realized, it wasnt gonna happen, NOR was I REALLY in the spirit.

Maybe I’ll just go to work in my pajamas, throw my hair in pigtails, grab that old beat up UCLA bear on a noose, my pink furry slippers and ROLL OUT!

Eh…fugg it.

Halloween
No one’s in costume yet…there’s only three of us here. I’m SOO happy, I didnt wear my pajamas. Maybe no one will come in today and I wont have to put it on. I mean, it’s here….in my travel bag…maybe it’ll stay there.

The Lord blessed me with admission into the Masters of Public Administration program that I’ve been trying to get into. Remember the GRE? Passed it…Remember the Statement of Purpose? Wrote it…Remember that new Apple IBook? laptop Bout to go get that in a month…lol…*shadup, it was my present to myself, remember? lol*

Anyhow…I think the first thing I did besides send out a mass text message was…
hit up the bookstore and buy a hooded sweatshirt. It’s one of my college staples. University Sweatshirt, jeans and a teeshirt and I’m good to go for the day. I might even have to go to the USC Bookstore to get a new sweatshirt since i’ve worn out my old one.

Anyhow, I was happy with all of the faculty that i’ve met so far. That’s one of the things that influences my decision about schools/classes….whether or not I’ll be able to get along with the faculty and blow up their email boxes with questions. :cloud9:

I havent decided whether or not I’m going to write a thesis or take the comprehensive exam, but Lucho’s given me advice. One of the advisors that I had talked to on the phone previously, gave me some hints and told me that I should write a paper since my gre score for Analytical Writing was so damn high. Maybe she’s right…but I’ll see how I feel after the first semester. Thesis preparation takes 8 months at least, and it all depends on time/motivation.:typing:

Wow….I just want to say thank you to GOD, first and foremost…for opening doors and throwing me through them *giggle*…to my momma, who will need to teach me the words to her alma mater once I’ve got my classes scheduled, and to incog….for keeping me laughing, pushing my studying and just being there to hear me stress and gripe. To everyone out in blogdom…thank you for hearing me out and for praying for me. Praises go up, blessings come down.

Oh and Dear Erika…I’ll post the pictures whenever I FEEL LIKE IT! *giggle* just kidding..i know im slacking, but I was preparing for my meeting this morning, so I will make sure that I post the pictures from this past weekend later on tonight…

I’d like to start by apologizing for taking so darn long …lol. You know I usually get back from a trip, post pictures, and have something up by the next morning. But alas, it’s evening and I’m barely writing….apologies.

My Friday morning started off with taking Incog and his best friend to the airport…we woke up at 4:30am, dressed, drove to the best friend’s house, and I dropped them off at the airport. I then came straight to work and got here at 6:00am because I knew that if I got back on the freeway and went home….I wasnt coming back.

Anyhow, I left work at about 1pm to get to the airport because i wanted to get there early. But I realized that I didnt know where the Park N Fly was…so it took me about 1.5 hours to actually get there and park and my flight was leaving at 3:20pm. So I was cutting it close. It seemed that as soon as I got there…I was standing in line boarding with the rest of my group (group 1).

Anyhow, I landed in Arizona on time, but I forgot to turn my cell phone off during the plane trip and so, I had to stand in the Gate and plug my phone into the wall to find out where Erika was. We soon got in contact, and I was out the door, in the car, and on the way to see her new home in Gilbert.

I’d just like to say that I’m really proud of everything my sandsie has accomplished. Just graduated, new home, new baby, great relationship…I LOVE YOU!

That night we went to Home Depot so my sands could pick up a new garage door opener…to keep out the *tweakers*….lol. Then we went home so that I could explore the new home. It was super huge and really nice. I got my own guest room…yay me.

Erika’s Boo @ the Picnic

On Saturday, we went to the mall, did some shopping and errand running and headed over to the greek picnic to see what was going on. There wasnt a lot of people there, but I was happy…because i had decided I was going to be a GDI for the weekend. But that didnt….really….work since half the folks there already knew who I was and uh…I couldnt help but jump in the stroll line. :duh:

My Sands and Neos

It was good to see my sands of Spring 2001 again. The last time I had seen all of them together was at KKBP 2003, I believe. Glad to hear everyone is doing the damn thing…buying homes, teaching, working….so happy.

That night, we all talked and then Erika and I went home and talked some more…It felt good to be able to talk to someone who I have so much in common with…my little patna in crime…*giggle*. Oh yeah, i hate you! *i know she’s gonna read this*

On Sunday, it was good to relax…it was like..being at home…without the constant running to the office to check on Client Requests. I mean, you know me….I had my email open on my cell phone, but still….I didnt respond. And that’s a BIG step for me. lol Before I left work on Friday, I had set up a notice for clients so that they knew that I wouldnt be responding until today. I was ON VACATION! :thumbsup:

Once I got to the airport on Sunday, I found out that not only was I seated in the BACK of the plane, but uh…the flight was delayed because of some PART that was missing. So it was delayed 30 minutes. Once we finally boarded the plane, I realized that I was sitting by Brandon Jackson of Roll Bounce.

He was great to talk to…and he helped kill the monotony of sitting in that damn airplane on the runway for 1 HOUR while we waited for airport police to escort some guy off the plane *yeah, he was white…lol*. I managed to snap a few photos of this Roll Bounce Co-star…

And the little girl next to me, who was enjoying all of my little camera “gidgets” wanted to take one too…so I let her at it…

Once we got off the plane, Brandon and I walked through the Airport and laughed. He’s up and coming you guys…and very proud of it. Congrats Brandon! *I know you’re readin this…lol* It took about 10 minutes for the Park N Fly shuttle to pull up, and once i got on, it took about 10 MORE minutes to get to the parking lot. But I got there just in time for the Parking Lot to have a Power Surge. *throws hands up in the air*….Lawd….Anyhow, I made it out safely..and headed BACK around the corner to the airport to pick up Incog and his friend who had just landed.

We made it home safely and were pretty much knocked out by the time we got there. It was a good weekend in all.

This morning was horrid cause I took me two hours to get here *work*, but eh well…such is life. I hope you all had a super weekend. I know I did….

before I start my weekend….

Went to the skating rink last night…got a blister :pissed: , but it was worth it…my legs are thanking me today…lol

I woke up early to go get my hair done and BOOOOOOI did it need it. I got scolded for waiting so long…when you have a relationship like that with your beautician, it’s a GOOD thing. I dont think my hair would have grown back to be this long if it wasnt for her. :thumbsup:

My sands Britni gave birth today. CONGRATULATIONS SANDSIE! We’re all growing up so fast….*sigh*. So many babies now…First Raynee, then Erika, now Brit….:grouphug: I love my sisters.

I’m gonna get up and go pack in a minute…that’s the only thing I dont like about going on trips…the packing. I dont think I’m going to check a bag though. If they were to ruin my new Guess Luggage, I’d have to crawl out on the runway and slap some folks. It would be me, them, and the airport security that would have to save THEM. And you can just forget shoes and belt for the flight. I’m wearin flip flops…I REFUSE to have to go through the taking off of shoes again to get through security scans.

Oh, i forgot to introduce you to Ernie. He’s my work buddy. Go Trojans! :curtsey:

Anyhow, me and my patna in crime (Erika) will be together again this weekend. I’m super excited. Expect lots of pictures, you know me well enough by now.

FIXED SITE ISSUES

With new layouts come site fixes…I fixed the SUBSCRIBE feature. Thanks to Bruthacode for bringing it to my attention. I also STOPPED the Radio.Blog AUTOPLAY. I did this because it was slowing down the site load for the Modemly Challenged.

All right, I’ll admit it. I’m hard headed. The first step to solving the problem is admitting that you have one. Unlike Jazz, I’m not an alcoholic, so I didnt think the rule applied. J/K @ Jazz
So you can go ahead and add that to the list. Spoiled, Hard Headed, Anal, Vain….Smart. I’ll take it. Fuck it. Part of what makes me, ME.

But in my defense and in defense of other smart folks out there…

1) We wouldnt have gotten this smart if we DIDNT listen. :shhh:

2) We probably wouldnt have learned so much, if we didnt have so much practice preparing and arguing our points. :surprised:

and 3) Who likes a dummy? :duh:

I guess what I’m trying to say is…the previous statement that you can’t tell a smart person anything because they dont listen, just isnt true. We listen to everything that is stated. That’s how we learn. Now whether or not we actually choose to USE the information that is presented…that’s another story.

Alright, that’s my rant for the day.

I like it here…..I’ve had several jobs that I’ve really liked in the past. My favorite was Milk Fed. OMG, I have so many clothes from there. Milk Fed Clothing Corp was/is a clothing line owned by Sofia Coppola. I worked there as an assistant to the head accountant who would come in once a month to make sure I was on track.

God, I hate numbers…

This coming from a person who has found that everyone wants to hire her and pay good money for her to what?

I’m hoping that getting my MPA will help me to obtain more Human Resources/Managerial type positions, rather than Accounting/Managerial positions.

It’s got great quality. It’s got the same features as my old Canon A80, but it’s smaller and i can drop it in my jeans real easy.

I got an email about 10 minutes ago, from Kit in the “Satisfaction Squad” saying that my order was going to be put back into production in response to the email i sent ON THE 7TH in response to his question as to whether I wanted a different font because the one they had wasnt available.

I kindly sent an email back to ALL of the emails they had listed on the website.

I sent this reply on the 7TH!!! ANd you’re just responding 11 days later!?!

I needed these by this Friday!! If I can not RECEIVE THEM *read, if they
will not be in my hands by THIS FRIDAY, I want to cancel my order.

And I’m sure it will be another two weeks before I get a response back.

I should be getting my skates probably on Tuesday/Wednesday and if anyone is in the Northridge/Glendale area and needs a skating buddy…lemme know.

Anyhow….today was cool until I realized I havent received my order from NEIGHBORHOODIES.COM. I should have realized something was up when I was ordering and the cost to ship a shirt and some pants was $30.00 for arrival 3 weeks later, and apparently that was “RUSH SHIPPING”. The other option was shipping for $400.00 and that was for the CEO to fly to my house and hand deliver the package. It was a cute idea, but today…the shit just aint funny.

Anyhow, I THOUGHT I ordered it with enough time to spare for my trip to Arizona. I mean, the shipping stated (shipment by October 12th). And yet….it’s October 17th and I still havent seen a tracking number or any status report from the company. I’ve sent emails to their customer service department, but there was no response. If rubbed the wrong way, I’ll buy the domain NEIGHBORHOODIESSUCKS.COM and really show them how i feel. I mean, $200 for a custom shirt and pants aint cheap.

When I called their Los Angeles store, the girl on the other end sounded like she didnt know what she was talking about. She had to turn around and ask someone else who was standing there. They told me that they dont have a 1-800 number for online customers, and that the only way to reach them was through the customer service email that I had been sending emails to. I explained to the lady on the other end that I had already sent two emails with no response and she asked me if i had spelled the email correctly. That had to be the DUMBEST question of the century as the link was on their website, it wasnt as if i had to type it in directly or anything.

*sigh*….I’ll keep you up to date on what happens…but, in short…..

DONT EVER BUY ANYTHING FROM NEIGHBORHOODIES.COM. Their SERVICE is HORRIBLE!

You can see that a 120 pound skater who can only skate 8 miles per hour will have to skate 3 hours a day or (more likely) combine skating with cutting back on the number of calories they consume. But if that same skater can kick up the speed to 14 miles per hour, they can lose 20 pounds in 3 months by skating 1 hour a day, with no change at all in their eating habits.
