Case & Point….

I went to Ikea last week to purchase some things for our new home….a lot of the stuff that I had priced out online was marked down by at least $10.00 when i got to the actual store which was FANTASTIC. I perused through the isles and dropped things into my basket and then afterwards went downstairs to the market hall to add furniture to my furniture cart. After i was done, i headed to the checkout line nearest the door and waited as the checker rang me up.

After she rang me up, she announced the price and I said, “oh cool….lower than i thought!”

*insert STUPID/BLANK FACE smiley here*

After i said that, she went through my cart, counted ALL the items again and realized that she had missed one……she added it on to the price. Then she proceeded to smile and apologize a thousand times as if the fact that she ADDED to the price wasnt enough.

Case & Point #2

I was on the phone with AT&T today to let them know that our four line phone system wasnt working and that the phones needed to be replaced. They asked me generic trouble shooting information and proceeded to instruct me ‘how-to’ troubleshoot……..great. So then it finally came down to them asking me other information to process the replacement request…

He asked, “so when did you purchase this item”…..

I said “mmmm…not sure, but it was probably back over a year ago”….

He says, “sorry we cant replace these if it’s been over a year…thank you for choosing AT&T….*click* ”

*blank stare*

Sorry, it’s taken me so long to get back to writing….it’s been a productive past two weeks….we’ve finally moved all of our stuff from our apartments into one. It started last week Friday when we moved all of my stuff from LA to Northridge….thanks to incog, i didnt really have to lift a finger….i just had to make sure i was on hand to pack all of my stuff. :couple:

Last week went pretty smoothly, two trips to Ikea…about 4 to Target….but finally, we have everythng we need…and will be getting a few things that we want later, before the House Warming….:smile:

Yesterday, I went and purchased my Digital Rebel XT, FINALLY!!! lol…..I’m not lettin anyone touch this cam…..it cost too much….lol…they can borrow the a80 though…lol…:thumbsup:

Anyhow, I’ll be launching cutedigital.com once i REALLY start taking portfolio shots…today, I was able to launch artistichub.com for all the urban photographers and designers out there….very excited about it. :thumbsup:

We’ve moved and are now in the final countdown to our vacation in Costa Rica….I’m really excited that things are finally coming together. Not only do i get two weeks paid vacation, but i get to spend a week exploring a new exciting place with the man I love….:kiss:

There’s very few times that i’ll get really deep on here, so i guess you should just…..pay attention while I’m in the whole “revealing” mode. I guess I’ve been thinking a lot the past few days about the other part of me that i rarely EVER talk about because it’s easier to forget than to talk about it. Somewhere…*i know where*….i have a brother out there…

It’s becoming more prevelant to me that he wont be around for those upcoming special days that I’d love to have him around for. He hasnt been around in the past….so i guess it doesnt REALLY matter, but he was in the wedding dream and the prom dream….even though he wasnt around, he was always there, however miniscule his appearance or role was. Growing up an only child had to be one of the greatest things…there was no fighting over toys or arguing over who had the car for what night and for how long. It was easy. But i guess there was always that little part of me that wanted to have someone to fight with. Someone i could yell at every once in a while, just because.

The last time i spoke to him, I was a Senior enjoying my last few days of High School…..that makes it about…..5 years ago. Even though i didnt like him back then, I’m able to put aside his faults now and replay all of the good things. I’ve only seen him once….which was actually the first time I met him. I was 9 and he was 18. Yep, 9 years older than me…..that makes him 31 now. I dont know when his birthday is….nor if he’s married, or if he has kids……I dont know if i’m an auntie or if i should be sending gifts on birthdays. I’m sure that if something happened to him, I’d get a phone call….once again through the grapevine….

While it’s hard to miss something I never had, the thought does cross my mind sometimes….”wonder what he’s doing”….”wonder if he’s okay”…..but i dont think I’ll ever get up the nerve to do the research, because if I did find him, i’d wanna give him a piece of my mind…

I’d tell him how he missed prom…..he missed the highlights…how it’d be great for him to meet my friends…how i’ve been dying to introduce him to the love of my life….how i wanted him to be there when i walked down the aisle….and most importantly…

how i’m mad at him for being a jerk and for missing all those days that were important for me…how i’m mad at him for acting the way he did when our dad died….for not caring enough to pick up the phone when he knew that I couldnt.

But i think once i got through the logistics, I’d be happy to claim him as ……well, what he’s supposed to be….my brother. Until then he’s non-mentioned, non-existent….he’ll still be in my dreams though, with his fuzzy un-recognizable face….

I just wish i knew him….but I dont. I dont know him.

I guess i could give reasons (to all the greek folks, i know what excuses are….i pledged) like —he’s in another country (Barbados) so it’ll be expensive…or…i dont have his most recent info…but I guess, i just wont know what to say…. @ everyone

Things are good and I can’t really complain. After work yesterday…*left at 3*, i set off to the ‘ridge to get some gym time in. I think my body’s fighting me…:thumbsdown:.It’s content on where it is, and all this extra gym and walk time is really starting to get on its nerves…….eh well….it’ll get over it. lol. Charging the IPOD at work so that i can just get on the treadmill and go without having to worry about how much time i spend using the IPOD and concentrate on getting fit in the areas that need to be fit. :thumbsup:

Things are going good on the moving side as well…my old manager called me up to find out when she can come get my executive desk…lol. Everyone in the complex is fightin over that thing….maybe i shoulda sold it instead of giving it away. They’ll have fun getting it OUT of the apartment…..EH WELL…as long as they dont mess up my computer SETUP, i have no issues. :soapbox:

I’m guessing we’ll start moving the rest of this crap this week and this weekend….packing has gone okay…just taking my time since i HAVE time….

And just so you know…I’M VOTING FOR Villagarosa. :thumbsup:

We started the weekend off with a trip to the Strawberry Festival early Saturday morning…..we headed out to my mom’s house first and then we went to the Strawberry Festival afterwards….good food, good company, good time by all…I’ll post the photos tonight in the gallery.

We got back to LA around 6pm starved for some “real food”….so we headed over to Claimjumpers to see what the atmosphere was like. Itwas EXTRA crowded to say the least…so we decided on Islands….WOO HOO! After dinner at Islands, we headed over to Best Buy so that I could check out this camera that I’m saving up for…you know…the one I keep talking about. I just cant get it off my mind for some reason….

Anyhow, i should be ready to purchase it in a week or two…so that i can have it before the trip to play around with and have sort of a “getting to know you” day with the camera at a park somewhere….God that sounds like a date….smh. I think i’m going to get it at Best Buy so that i can have the warranty and the theft policy and everything. If i were to buy it on ebay, then i’d get it for about $100 cheaper, but i wouldnt have the protection that i know I have if i go to Best Buy and purchase it.

In other news, i finally cleaned out the multitude of drawers in my room….and all of my clothes are in a box….tomorrow, i have to hit the closet pretty hard to make sure i get everything i need. I guess we’re just gonna leave the trash and everything so that we can just make a gazillion trips after i’ve moved everything into the new apartment…..*sigh*…..I hate moving…and …I love it all at the same time.

I’ve gone ahead and changed my work schedule so taht i dont have to deal with traffic too much…..I’m no longer 9 – 5 but rather 8 – 4….which is fine by me. Allows me to make that 5pm spinning class at the Ballys closer to where i will be living. YAY ME.

Sunday was very quiet, like most Sundays are…..I woke up early and attacked Ballys with a new schedule and new points to work on. After 30 minutes on the Precor, 15 minutes on the stairs, and 15 on the treadmill (speed walking), i decided to hit the bikes for a quick 20. And while i was looking around for magazines, I realized that there was one sitting next to my bike. So I picked it up and GUESS what was on the cover…..
THE CAMERA I WANT! …lol……Popular Photography & Imaging will probably be my first REAL Magazine subscription. All of the other mags i get…are things from tenants before me, and from the sorority…..so….it’ll be different to actually get a magazine that I want. *giggle*

Anyhow, I hope you guys all have a cool Monday….I’ll be posting photos of the strawberry festival later on tonight.

I ran into a very best friend of mine this past weekend who has Cerebral Palsy. She’s such a GREAT person…and I love her and enjoy her friendship very much. :hug: She reminds me to enjoy and cherish life…..

I just wanted to remind everyone to support those organizations in need….UCP, Pediatric Aids Foundation, etc… All it takes is a few dollars each month, and so much can come of it.

Two of my friends have CP and I really appreciate the organization United Cerebral Palsy.

So if you can, make it your business to donate to whichever organization you see fit….

What got me was that they’re going to go ahead and get in-vitro fertilization now so that she can have a baby…:) That is sooooo great! :thumbsup:

Yesterday only got better as I headed home to do more packing and designing. I talked to my Landlord about all of the stuff that i’m leaving in my apartment since i wont need it anymore…and 5 minutes later someone from the complex was knocking on my door to pick up my futon couch. :thumbsup: I was like, HOT DOG! Did you guys have a phone convo convention or something? :grouphug: Anyhow, couch is gone….desk and bed will be gone too….All i have to do is leave everything where it is, clean around it and keep it pushin……I think it woulda cost me extra time on the Mover Meter if they had to move that desk. It tooks us a whole day to put it together….But i knew it was staying after we put it together….lol. I was like, “uh, if i have to move….this piece of shit is stayin RIGHT HERE”…..

Anyhow, did my evening drive out to the ridge, had homemade tacos….:thumbsup: and chilled like a villian.
Tomorrow’s hump day…..YAY!

The weekend was pretty good….i cant really complain about that….it was much chilling and relaxing.
Friday night we went to IKEA to checkout some furniture options….slept in Saturday…and then we went to Fridays on Saturday afternoon ….it was really good to be able to sit and talk and just enjoy being us. :couple:

Sunday morning came around and it was time to drive to Oxnard and do the Mother’s Day thing….it was good to see my cousins and family again. I love my mom and it was good to be able to spend the day with her. Sunday afternoon was the finishing up of a movie “The Woodsman” and a “Sex and the City” marathon on the good HBO on Demand…I dont know WHAT I’m gonna do without it once we move and start saving for real.

This morning, i woke up and didnt even feel like i wanted to get on the freeway for work….it wasnt like normal either…I mean, i’m usually over it by the time i’m halfway up the 10 freeway, but this time, it was a little different.

Then when i got here, it was one BS phone call after the other……:hissy: …i dunno man, i just dunno……just……..gimme a few months.

This week it will be kind of sparatic, new carpet is being installed, cleaning and then moving boxes gradually throughout the week…….Strawberry Festival on Saturday, chill time on Sunday…..

God, i can’t wait for Costa Rica……
